Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique used by physical therapists, including those in PT Omaha, to help treat pain and movement impairments. During therapy for active people, the physical therapist inserts a 'dry' needle, which contains no medication or injection, into specific areas of the muscle. This method is particularly beneficial for athletes, making it a popular choice among PT Runners Omaha, especially when addressing running injuries.

Cupping

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice often utilized in physical therapy, particularly in PT Omaha, where practitioners place cups on the skin to create suction. This technique is beneficial for promoting relaxation, enhancing blood flow, alleviating pain, and reducing inflammation. Some people even liken it to a deep-tissue massage. It's a valuable therapy for active people, including those recovering from a running injury, as seen with offerings like PT Runners Omaha.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

Soft Tissue Mobilization (STM) employs stretching and deep pressure techniques to break up rigid muscle tissue, relieve muscle tension, and facilitate the movement of fluids trapped in the tissues that contribute to pain and inflammation. This effective method is commonly utilized in physical therapy settings, particularly for treating soft tissue injuries like muscle strains and sprains. As a type of manual therapy, STM is an integral part of the therapy for active people, including programs offered by PT Runners Omaha, specifically addressing running injuries.

Graston Technique

The Graston Technique is one of the most effective methods a physical therapist can utilize to provide relief from chronic pain. This therapy, widely practiced in PT Omaha, is a type of soft tissue mobilization and manual therapy that involves gently massaging and scraping sections of the skin with special ergonomic stainless steel instruments. It's particularly beneficial for those in need of therapy for active people, especially in managing running injuries, making it an excellent choice for PT Runners Omaha.
